Arts4Kids Summer Arts Enrichment Camp

Kingsport, Tenn. (March 16, 2009) — Through the Arts4Kids program, the Arts Council of Greater Kingsport will offer a Summer Arts Enrichment Camp June 8-12. The camp is for students interested in creating, exploring, and learning about the arts. Camp will be held at the Kingsport Renaissance Center and will be open to children 4-6 years old and children who are rising first through eighth graders.
Sessions for 4- to 6-year-olds will be held from 8 a.m. to noon and will cost $95 for the week. Participants will explore music, movement, theatre, dance, and the visual arts through mini sessions. These sessions are designed to give them a general introduction to multiple art forms, as well as provide opportunities or hands on participation.

Sessions for rising first- through eighth-graders will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will cost $150 for the week. Participants will explore the arts each day through a wide variety of hands-on sessions in areas including: theatre, music, movement, and both 2D and 3D visual arts. The camp is designed to encourage and develop creative thought and expression through participation in these and other activities.

The camp registration deadline is May 15. There is a limit to the number of children that can participate, so be sure to get your registration in early. Arts4Kids Club is an introductory arts program for children ages 6-12 presented by the Arts Council of Greater Kingsport. Arts4Kids Club registration is $20 for the school-year program, or $5/individual workshop. The program is designed to expose children to a wide variety of arts and encourage their life-long pursuit of creative endeavors.
