With 2010 Miss Kingsport, Brittany Davis

Kingsport, Tenn. (Jan. 4, 2010) –The Arts Council of Greater Kingsport’s Arts4Kids Program will be offering youth workshops with the reigning 2010 Miss Kingsport, Brittany Davis on Saturday Jan. 23rd from 1-2:30 PM. She will be assisted by the pageants Miss Congeniality, Nora Beth Moran. This workshop, titled Live Masks, will teach participants to use face paint and make-up to enhance an actor’s character for the stage. Space for this workshop is limited to 20 participants so preregistration is recommended. The outreach workshops will be at the Riverview Boys and Girls Club on Friday Jan. 8th, at Girls Inc. on Friday Jan. 15th, and at Holly Hills and Cloud Boys and Girls Clubs on Jan. 22nd.
Brittany Elaine Davis, Miss Kingsport 2010, will be working with the Arts4Kids Program. Brittany is a 20 year old senior at ETSU in the pre-pharmacy program. She is majoring in psychology with a minor in human development and learning. The arts have always been a part of her life. She has played the piano, sang, and danced for years. Through her platform, “Believe to Achieve: Inspiring Children to Believe in Themselves to Reach their Dreams” and Arts4Kids, she hopes to introduce children to the world of arts as a gateway to reach their dreams.
Arts4Kids Club is an introductory arts program for children ages 6-12 presented by the Arts Council of Greater Kingsport. Arts4Kids Club registration is $20 for the school-year program, or $5/individual workshop. The program is designed to expose children to a wide variety of arts and encourage their life-long pursuit of creative endeavors. The Arts4Kids program is funded under agreement with the State of Tennessee, the Tennessee Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as, the Kingsport Community Foundation (a fund of the East Tennessee Foundation), Eastman Chemical Co., the City of Kingsport, and other local sponsors.
